Kdrama: The First Shop of Coffee Prince
Go Eun Chan!
I can't get this drama off my system.
For a straight guy and a playboy to boot, it would take a mountain of courage to admit to yourself that you fell in love with another guy. You can really feel the pain and agony and denial
Han Kyul is experiencing. But he took the risk and confessed to Eun Chan. Gosh I thought I'm going to melt in this scene.
Really trully madly love this drama!!!
Here's my summary
Go Eun Chan is tomboyish and had to take several jobs to finance her family. One of her job is to deliver milk and newspaper, she befriended the dog Terry and it's owner Choi Han Sung. She got attracted to Han Sung because of his caring nature but learned that he has a gf, Han Yoo Joo.
Meanwhile, Choi Han Kyul was dragged from one arranged date to another set-up by his grandmother. He mistaken Eun Chan as a guy and hired her to act as his gay lover to in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. She was also hired later as male waiter at cafe owned by Han Kyul.
After working together Han Kyul started to get attracted to Eun Chan but he brushes it off since all along he thought that Eun Chan was a guy which she did not deny bec she needed the job and the money. When Han Kyul confessed to Eun Chan she plans to tell him the truth the next day but someone beat her from it. He felt so betrayed coz she lied to him, but eventually they were dovey-dovey again.
I know my review did is not give justice to the actual thing.
That's why you have to watch it for yourself.
Or re-watch it like I plan to do again and again and agian.
My personal rating:
Title : The first shop of Coffee Prince
Genre : Romantic Comedy
Total ep : 17 + Special
Casts : Yoon Eun Hye as Go Eun Chan, Goong Yoo as Choi Han Kyul, Lee Sun Gyun as Choi Han Sung, Chae Jung Ahn as Han Yoo Joo
Kilig rating : 10/10
(If I can give more I would! Super kilig talaga ako dito. X has a very sexy smile. Love the scene when he confessed even though he thought she was a he. And of course the're cuddling, kissing moments!)
Story rating : 10/10
(I'm biased I agree but I really adore this drama and the casts acting are really great, special mention to Goong Yoo)
I will never grew tired of watching this!
Even when I turned old and grey.
Promise!

Sticky Note: YEH's New KDrama
I can't resist writing and getting excited over this!
Obviously I have been a big fan of Yoon Eun-Hye ever since her Princess Hours.
I followed her to Vineyard Man and Coffee Prince.
I've been waiting for her next project since CP ended in 2007.
It was confirmed that her new Kdrama is Lady Castle and has a tentative primeire date of August 19, 2009 with Wed-Thurs timeslot on KBS2TV.
Here is the summary from DramaWiki
Lady Castle is a story about 3 daughters and the inheritance left by their father. Their lifestyle is disrupted after a poor man disguises himself as a housekeeper/manager of a rich house with an eye on the family’s hidden slush fund. He falls in love with the haughty second daughter (of three), Noh Yura, played by Yoon Eun Hye. Noh Yura is a lady who possesses a goddess-like beauty. She is strong-headed, selfish and the world revolves around her, where all things must go her way. Yet, Yura is lonely and longs to be loved, and for this, Yura is weak in front of true love and is one who you cannot help but love.
Now I can happily wait for it.
What is 2 months compared to 2 years?

Sticky Note: Mike He's New TwDrama
After his last idol drama Bull Fighting in 2007, he shot one CDrama titled Infernal Lovers last 2008.
I haven't got to watch or have any news about its scheduled airing.
I'm not a fan of historical dramas but what the heck this is Mike He's drama so I must watch it nevertheless.
Meanwhile, he has another TwDrama caming up called Calling Big Star.
It is scheduled to air on July.
Here is the summary from DramaWiki
Mike He plays a reluctant big star who entered the entertainment industry to support his family. Now that he has earned enough money and his contract about to end, he happily starts planning for the next stage of his life. Around the same time, unfortunate financial downturn struck his agent, his sister and his best friend. Feeling obligated to help them he contemplates on renewing his contract. Totally depressed by this thought, he buys a lotto ticket hoping that he can win the big one and save him from this dilemma. As luck would have it, he wins the jackpot but loses the ticket before he can cash it. Now he is chasing after a taxi driver, played by Charlene Choi, all over town in order to get it back.
Now, this is really something to get excited about.

Twdrama: Devil Beside You
For the nth time, I watched Devil Beside You this weekend.
I plan to write a review on it...being one of my favorite taiwanese drama.
Not that I need to...since I know it's story by heart.
But I miss watching it.
And more importantly I miss Mike He (the male lead star)!
It was originally shown in 2005.
Was adopted from a manga titled Akuma de Sourou.
I've also read the manga btw.
I have dl the series and also has a DVD copy.
Nothing beats watching it in a wide screen in the comfort of your bed while munching this and that.
A complete bum.
Ok ok, let's go down to the business...
Here's my summary
Qi Yue (Rainie Yang) has decided to confess to her long-time crush Yuan Yi (Kingone) but in the process Qi Yue gave the letter to Jiang Meng (Mike He). Jiang Meng bullied Qi Yue and treatened to exposed the letter if she refuse to be his servant. Jiang Meng/ Ahmon/ Prince is the only son of the President of their school. So Qi Yue agreed to it at first but later on got the courage to refuse and directly confess again to Yuan Yi. The later also feels the same way but Qi Yue started liking Ahmon.
The thing is Qi Yue's mother and Ahmon's father are dating and already planning to get married. Even if Qi Yue and Ahmon have feelings for each other they did not tell their parents and just go with the flow. They started living in one house as siblings and their relationship got more and more complicated with alot of interventions. Of course they were able to overcome those problems and their parents accepted their relationship.
Ahmon is very expressive and has a devil may care attitude. While Qi Yue is very funny and naive - others may comment that her acting is OA but I think the story ask her to be one.
And my personal assessment

Title : Devil Beside You
Cast: Mike He as Jiang Meng/ Ahmon/ Prince, Raine Yang as Qi Yue, Kingone as Yuan Yi
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Total Ep : 20
Kilig Rating : 10/10
(I am biased and easy to be kilig, but hey this is my review so I can rate them whatever I want - right? There were alot of romantic/ intimate/ kilig moments in this drama. Alot of kissing and hugging! And they even do it near the end! gosh I get to see Mike He in boxer's shorts! He is so cute! Actually I'm kilig more with Mike He than in the story - sorry!)
Overall Rating: 8/10
(The story is entertaining, funny, a little complicated with so many side stories. The actors are effective in their respective roles. A feel-good drama for young and young-at-heart audience. A must see!)
Sidetrack
I fell in love with Mike He here esp with his smile. From then onwards I searched for all his dramas and watched it all. Haha...talk about being an obsessed fan.

Kdrama: When It's A Night
I just finished watching this drama.
And I would say it is really interesting.
Even if I'm not into antique/ cultural stuffs, watching this would make you aware of their importance.
And how people would do everything to get hold of these valuables.
The main leads are Kim Sun Ah (aka Kim Sam Soon) and Lee Dong Gun (aka Martin from Lovers in Paris).
Here's my summary
Heo Cho Hee (HCH) was assigned to go undercover at Japan to capture a notorious tomb theif (antique/ cultural treasures) named Kim Bum Sang. Meanwhile Kim Bum Sang (KBS), the professor cum tv antique enthusiast cum lady killer was also there to appraise an artifact. So HCH followed KBS and they got tangled with some yakuza leader. When they returned to Korea, KBS was given a post as Enforcement Team's Consultant where HCH works as manager in the Cultural Theft Unit. So here starts their daily bickering and eventually fell for each other.
But initially HCH is in love with Chief Kang (CK), the good looking head of Criminal Investigation Unit, while the kikay Joo Hyun (JH), also works at Cultural Theft Division thinks both KBS and CK likes her.
HCH's drive to recover these national treasures came from the fact that her father was the one of the infamous tomb thief. And she was hoping that if those were recovered maybe her father would come back.
Also to be noted is the cute brother of HCH, Heo Gyoon (HG) played by Park Ki Wong (stars in Love Marriage) who was actually the Hong Gil Dong/ steals the treasures and return it to the nation.
And my personal assessment
